Fresh from the http://hummingbirdbakery.com/ this is the red velvet cake. It was huge! They do an even bigger cake which must be ridiculously large.

Butterfly cakes - an english classic!

Today I had a marathon baking session - after a request from my friend, Rachel - I made some butterfly cakes. Whilst I was in the `baking mood' I went onto made brownies and a plum and cinnamon crumble (plums from our tree in the garden). Not sure when and whether I can eat all of these goodies, so if u live nearby pop in for cake and tea!

We had a pot of tea, glass of champagne, a pimms shot (with lemon sorbet..ummmm) and lashings of cream cakes. Woodlands Hotel, Cobham.

I went to visit my good friend Kate today, also known as the Queen of `sticky toffee pudding'(my favorite pud in the world). STP for short. Kate's STP is still the best in the world and still retains the title queen of stp!

Brownie heaven

A recipe from Momma Cherri's recipe book. The brownies were fudgy and very chocolatey. Truly scrumptious.

Happy birthday Chloe! I made lemon cupcakes with a purple flower on each as decoration.

Cakes and more cakes in Budleigh Salterton, Devon

The best bakery in the south west - The Lawn Bakery, Budleigh Salterton. Highly recommended the pecan slice (as purchased daily by Jaffa) and the cherry bun. Truly scrumptious!

Happy Easter 2010!

40 days and 40 nights - well 39 actually

The cake queen is back. After a long 39 days of no cake or choclate in my life, I went for a cream tea on Easter Saturday. Why do this to myself? Not sure actually. Much will power was needed. It was hard and am glad cake and chocolate are back in my life! A selection of chocolate scones, with chocolate sauce; divine smooth chocolate tarts; mini hot cross buns; brownie and chocolate bunnies. All washed down with a pot of English Breakfast tea! Heaven.

Featured cake - Paige's Sultana Cakes

Here is a delicious Sultana Cake baked by my friend's two year daughter Paige Sherwood. These taste so darn good, that I've realised that even though I've been baking for years, I've still got a lot to learn! Well done Paige! The master at work!

Marshmallow n' pink cupcakes

Cupcake order to welcome a new baby girl, Evie

Lemon Drizzle Cake

A moist sponge with zingy lemon icing on the top. Made yesterday and enjoyed by my personel trainers, Steve and Roxy - who ate a slice each before my hour PT session had even finished!
